River Run

There hasn't been much painting this week. We are having a family reunion Saturday, so time has been devoted to getting the place ship-shape rather than painting.

I had to laugh at myself because I posted the wrong size of the "River Run" painting (I'm blaming it on age *grin*). It is actually 20" x 16" on gallery wrapped canvas.

A Rose

This painting was done wet-in-wet using Holbein
oils on a gessoed 3 1/2" x 16 1/2" luan hardboard,
using a brush and palette knife. It is very wet
and was difficult to get a photo without glare from
the lights and flash.

This is the second oil I have tried painting since
the early 1980's. I am finding it challenging but
most of all fun.

Oklahoma Photos

I haven't painted this week but have taken a few photos of the rural landscape here in Northeast Oklahoma and photos of sunflowers. These are possibilities for future paintings.

This photo was taken looking toward the sun and is approximately 2 miles from my home.

This photo was taken just a stone's throw from my home

These photos were taken in town. I spotted these huge sunflowers from across the street and had to have a photo of them.

This last photo of rural Northeastern Oklahoma was taken by me October, 2005.

Today I painted this landscape using Stephen Quiller artists' acrylics. The painting is 29 7/8" x 23 7/8" canvas mounted on mdf board.

06-17-06 My 1st Post

It is a muggy Saturday afternoon after this morning's rain. While the sun is shining, work will continue on my next painting.

I finished this 18" x 14" acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas, earlier this week.

Here is a watercolor painting I did a couple of weeks ago.
