Daffodil, Watercolor

I have inserted a new photo taken this morning below the original so the differences can be seen. Not sure its an improvement but wanted a little more separation between the bell of the daf and the petals.

Painted this from a reference photo I took a couple of weeks ago. The reference photo is here.
It is on an 1/8th sheet Fabriano Aristico watercolor paper, painted to the edges. This is a practice piece trying to learn more about watercolor.

Beautiful spring flower, Ann. I like the lightened petals on the top version but would still blur out the petal to the viewer's right side like you did in the bottom version. So soft and delicate looking!!

Very well done Ann.
Please check out my blog. I have something for you.

Thanks Rhonda. IRL the flower has maintained the freshness as in the first photo. I only darkened a few areas around the bell, lifted paint from the petal on the viewer's right plus added more textures, color and some darker values in the foreground area.

Dean, what a pleasant surprise this award is and I feel very humble. I definitely have a passion for painting and anything related to it. I enjoyed viewing the blogs of the other artists you selected as well. As always I enjoy your work. Really nice entry for the Different Strokes blog.
