The paintings of Oklahoma artist, Ann Buckner Krug
I don't know how close to you this looks but it doesn't matter. I like it more than any portrait you've done in dry media so far. There is a pensive and yet an intense look to her that makes me wonder what she's looking at and what she's thinking about it. Beautifully done! Are you going to participate in the David Lobenberg June challenge for self-portraits? I think you should enter this!
Nice portrait, I like the faceexpression...yes, the question is: what's she thinking about? I'd like to know! All the best, I enjoy visiting your blog.
Rhonda, thank you! It does look like me. I do think I made the width of the face a bit narrow though. That photo was taken on one of the days I was dealing with my feelings about Lupus, wondering what the future would hold. This was just a quick 20 min. sketch, trying to overcome my drawing fears, so doubt I will not enter it into David's challenge. It will be interesting to see all of self-portraits when he posts them. Fabio, thank you. I am drawn to paintings/drawings that show expressiveness no matter the subject, and decided to sketch this one of me, for practice. Sure wish I could paint flowers like you do. They are so gorgeous and your brushwork very, very expressive.
