I have worked on the study of Joyce, reshaping the face basically as can be seen with the comparison of the first photo compared to this morning's photo of the painting. This is coming out so well. Beautiful colors emerging in Joyce's face. I also like the way you are handling the bg. Can't wait to see it finished.
Mary, I enjoyed reading about your art journey and look forward to reading and see more of your work. Thank you for stopping by.
Donna, how kind of you to visit this blog. I appreciate it and your encouraging words very much.
Cindi,
Christiane,
Nora,
Thank you ladies for your encouragement. I hope to paint more on it today. The surface should be dry so the rough spots can be sanded a bit.
Looking forward to seeing this one take shape more and more and become Joyce :) What a wonderful commemoration of her you are sharing with us. (Did you read the latest Robert Genn newsletter about Sargent - and how many times he'd rework a face? Reminded me of you, my friend...maybe you have the right idea and perfectionists make better paintings than those of us who just slop on the paint and let it go!)
Rhonda, thanks for staying tuned. Oh yeah, like to read Robert Genn's newsletters. They always have wonderful little tidbits in them and enjoyed reading the readers' comment too.
