5" x 7" oil on Ampersand Gesso Board using Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Transparent Red Oxide, Ivory Black, and White. Photo taken under warm/cool fluorescent bulbs at night.
Still lots to do on this - modifying some of the reds, adding some lights to the lower right jaw/cheek with a bit of direction modification. The mouth/teeth still to be finished and need to scrap down the hair I think and do it again. Will look at that in the morning!

Ann, this is looking awesome! She looks really natural. You're doing great!!!
You and Joyce looked like sisters, that's for sure :) I think this is coming along nicely - remember to do what Degas did: put a stroke down and stand back and look at it to see if it made it better :) Does your Mom know you are painting this one?
beautiful portrait...your skin tone study is paying off. It is surprising that it is just 5 x 7. You have so much good detail on such a small surface. Five stars. :)
Thanks Deb!
Thanks for the five stars, Celeste!
Hi Rhonda, it definitely takes retraining of my mindset, painting a stroke, stepping back, evaluating. :D Yes, Joyce and I did look a lot like each other. It is so easy to put my features in so I have to really take care to put in her features. So lots of looking and evaluating.
