The shape of the large rock bothered me as can be seen in the photo in yesterday's post. I felt the shape was about the same size and shape as the turtle shell and it was also quite vibrate. So I changed the shape of the rock and redid the water as well as working a bit more on the turtle. This is it for this painting as I'm ready to go on to something else.

you have such a great concept here I wonder if you shouldn't darken the rock a little more and the darks on the right side of the turtle shell. Would really make it pop. It is so close.
Yep - like this one much better than the other - and I agree with Gary - just a bit darker. You did a great job.
super looking turtle! I understand about "being done with it"--you did a good job and you could always consider cropping the left side to put him into a square format! Great work.
Gary,
Deb,
Celeste,
Thank you all. Love reading your comments and suggestions. They help me to look at the painting in a different way. Thanks for visiting.
You're doing awesome stuff on yupo, Ann! I love the colours you have in this and especially the depth in those greens.
Thank you Deb. This painting though is on gessoed watercolor paper. I think I like it better than yupo.
