9 1/4" x 12 1/2"
Fabriano Aristico Paper

This was painted for the lost/found edges project challenge at with the beautiful reference photo provided by Nora.  The camera darkened the background even more than it is so it is hard to see the colors that were used in orchid mixed into the background.

On another note, I want to thank all of you that take the time to comment.  It is especially nice to know that you are out there with your encouraging words and thoughts.

Ann, I clicked on this to blow it up so I can delve into that background - so many luscious, dark colors!! That flower is very nice but what really gets me is the poety of that one bud, tilting away from the viewer and perfectly painted! Wow!

Here's a strange thing.. the distance the painting is in your blog makes the painting much more striking than the close up version.

Striking it is. I'd be delighted if I had painted it. xx

This is so beautifully delicate! I also love the variety of colors and textures that you used in your background. Very well done!

Your paintings are very beautiful. The best part is that I can tell that you really enjoy yourself- it shows through in each piece.
