I made some changes this morning as can be seen in the comparison photo above, based on a couple of critiques received at our portrait group. I shortened the nose just a bit, raised the lips just a little and shortened the chin. I also darkened areas and lightened some others. It does feel more finished to me and will use this as a base for a watercolor painting.

Subtle, but great changes! I didn't think it needed changed, but in comparison I think his nose does look better. Did you change his lips, too? Maybe it's reading differently in the lighting, but it looks more manly now, too. Either is great, but it's interesting to see your eye for what needed editing.

I liked the previous one but can see that the changes, especially with the more definite darks and lights, make this one even better! Now - color!!!
