I reworked the original watercolor painting of the young girl with some acrylics on the face and shirt. The background blues to the right of the ear are more of a purplish blue. A bit of light could be added to the lower ear lobe and a decrease of light could be done on the area above and left (viewer's left) of the upper lip. Think I will call this one finished.

Hello Ann.I'm glad to have found your blog this morning.
I love how this one turned out- especially the light! What a face!

Stunning work Ann.....I love the skin tones, and the hair is superb.....
Portraits are soooo hard - you managed to save her! And the problems you had here will help your work in the future, a good learning curve. I admire you!
I think I'd call her finished,, too. She's really beautiful.
What a beautiful portrait, and such a sweet expression on her face.
Just beautifully done Ann. Good for you sticking to it and coming out with a great portrait.
I was so curious to know how you'd build up her skin up to the last stage but never in a million year I'd imagine this! I love that you've added acrylics, the textures change so much from one area to another, I even thought there were some pastel at first! love it, loveitloveitloveit <3
You took something that wasn't working for you and made it work :) I wouldn't change anything but maybe darken her lips a bit. Beautiful and soft and interesting colors in the skintones that work well.
