From the Archives

Watercolor 2004

This was painted from a newspaper photo, with permission of the photographer, and a ceramic frog.  I eventually gave the frog away to a niece that collects them.

Your handling of the water lilly pads is well done. The frog needs work; I can tell from his eyes, he's not real. so I would either make him more realistic looking or play up the shine a ceramic frog would have--play up the realism of the pads to the commercialism of the frog. Interesting painting, worth a redo or fix.

Thanks, L.W. I won't be redoing or changing this one but appreciate your thoughtful comments to improve it. :)

Thanks, Patricia. Appreciate you.

This is such a cute painting. I used to collect ceramic frogs...they all seem to have such a personality. I really like all the greens that you have used in this painting.

Thanks Christiane. This is one of my old paintings that was done when I first returned to painting. There was something so whimsical about that little frog that I just had to paint him lol.
